Chocolate and patisserie Antwerp
Indulge in sweet desserts and pastries on a tasting walk through the city centre
Antwerp ‘biscuit city’ Koekenstad
Antwerp has been nicknamed the Koekenstad, which translates to Biscuit City, and we didn’t get that nickname for nothing. Aside from the extensive history of biscuit factories that’s behind that name, we also just have amazing biscuits, pastries, and chocolate. And of course, as proud citizens of Antwerp we have to celebrate that history.
Chocolate and patisserie week
The chocolate and patisserie week extends, contrary to what the name implies, over two weeks instead of just one. From Saturday 1 March until Friday 14 March, you can go on a tasting route through the city centre of Antwerp. Those two weeks are all in name of indulging in pastry, chocolate, ice cream, coffee and so much more sweet delicacies.
How to take part
Wonderful news! Anyone can take part in this tasting walk. Get your chocolate and patisserie pass in one of the participating shops, download the online guide and save a spot in your calendar for an indulgent day filled with chocolaty, sweet goodness. For more practical information, visit the Antwerpen Koekenstad website.
Other activities
Not only is there the tasting walk with plenty of treats, there’s also many different expositions in the same time period. So, if you’ve had enough to eat after devouring all of those sweet treats, you can go stroll through some of the expos that catch your eye.
