Antwerp and fashion go together like cookies and milk.

Antwerp has brought forth some of the world’s most renowned fashion designers. Since the end of the 80s, the Antwerp Six (De Zes van Antwerpen) have transformed Belgian Fashion. The Antwerp Six is commonly used to refer to Antwerp’s most famous fashion designers: Walter Van Beirendonck, Marina Yee, Dirk Bikkembergs, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene and Ann Demeulemeester.

Dries Van Noten and Ann Demeulemeester have their flagship stores in Antwerp. So definitely check them out. While snooping through the many vintage shops the Fashion District has to offer, you’ll definitely find some of the other designers’ creations, so keep your eyes peeled.

Drop by the ModeMuseum (MoMu) if you want to learn where Antwerp’s fascination with fashion stems from. Besides themed exhibitions, you can visit one of the many events and masterclasses the museum has to offer. MoMu’s Fashion Walk and Museum Night are surely worth your time.

You’ll also find Museum Plantin-Moretus in the fashion district. The museum is dedicated to the history of the printing press. It’s on the UNESCO World Heritage List and definitely worth a visit!

If you’re feeling bold, you should most certainly pay a visit to Antwerp’s Kammenstraat. You’ll find some of the trendiest shops and stores Antwerp has to offer. Do you want to get a tattoo or visit a geek store? The Kammenstraat has it all!

Antique enthusiasts should spend some time in the Kloosterstraat. If you have the time, go on a Sunday. While the rest of the city takes a rest, the Kloosterstraat is bustling. The many charming antique shops the Kloosterstraat has to offer will keep you occupied for hours. Fancy taking a break? Visit one of the many pubs, bars and restaurants for a refreshing drink or a bite to eat.
