GIO Pizza Bar: Delicious Neapolitan pizza in Antwerp

Gio Pizza Bar is a trendy newcomer in Antwerp’s South district. This stylish pizza bar is located on Volkstraat, in the heart of a vibrant neighbourhood full of food hotspots. After the roaring success of Giuseppe’s in Ghent, the mouthwatering Neapolitan pizzas are now arriving in Antwerp. Our team got a sneak peek before the grand opening, and we were far from disappointed!

A Rich Menu

What’s on the menu? A wide range of authentic Neapolitan pizzas of course! There are also different traditional Italian starters and desserts. As a starter we chose a bruschetta and an Italian Aperitif, a delicious charcuterie board with Italian charcuterie and cheese.

A real Neapolitan pizza has a high crust and a ‘wet’ centre. Of course they aren’t really wet, the dough is simply a little softer than that of a Roman pizza. And when it comes to making authentic Neapolitan pizzas, Gio Pizza Bar does it best! They serve a deliciously airy crust that is baked in a traditional pizza oven, creating a crispy edge without drying out the centre. There is also plenty of variety to choose from. Pizzas with meat, fish, or would you prefer something vegetarian? Gio Pizza Bar has something for everyone.

Cosy Atmosphere

Not only is the food delicious, the atmosphere is great too. Gio Pizza Bar has opted for an open and modern concept in their dining room. The somewhat industrial décor forms a nice contrast with the more traditional touch of the stone oven, which is located right in the dining area! This way, you can watch your pizza being baked while you enjoy an aperitif and a starter. For us, that really completed the experience.

Overall, delicious food, a great atmosphere, and super-friendly staff. Gio Pizza Bar is a real recommendation if you want to enjoy Neapolitan pizza in Antwerp!
