In 2023, Antwerp welcomed Bakkerij Funk to the heart of the city. This unique bakery concept was created by Dennis van Peel, founder of the well-known ‘Have A Roll’, together with co-owner Lisa Wynen. Bakkerij Funk brings together freshly baked treats, great coffee, and authentic wines in one inviting space. The idea is simple: a place where people can enjoy a cozy chat over delicious bites all day long. Start your day with a slice of cake and a good cup of coffee, and wind down with a glass of natural wine.

Are you on a vegan diet? If so, Bakkerij Funk is the place to go! Their selection of vegan pastries changes weekly, giving you plenty of reasons to keep coming back and discovering new flavours. Of course, you’ll also find the classics: buttery croissants and pain au chocolat, alongside more creative options like blueberry crumble, apricot custard pastries, or apple with marzipan. If you’re looking for a balanced breakfast, you can find yoghurt and oatmeal bowls here as well.
Not everything is sweet, though. Funk also serves a range of savoury options, including fresh soups and a variety of toast. There’s a strong focus on vegan choices, but non-vegan options are available as well. The toast is definitely a must-try: it’s made with their own homemade sourdough bread.
To top it all off, you can enjoy a carefully selected range of natural wines throughout the day. For this, Funk collaborates with several Belgian suppliers, ensuring a unique and high-quality offering.

A new location
Good news! Starting in June 2026, Bakkerij Funk will open a new location in Oud-Berchem. The new bakery will be located on the corner of Coverliersstraat and Belpairestraat, close to brewery De Koninck. With this expansion, Bakkerij Funk aims to let even more customers enjoy its artisanal breads and freshly baked pastries.
